I finally decided on a cell phone that I wanted back in December, and I've been waiting til it was free, which was today finally. Oh boy. The phone isn't even a smart phone, and while it does Facebook and the Internet, I don't know if that is free, or if I would have to get a data plan or something? I will find out when the phone comes and I switch it over. I'm not getting a data plan, and I've lived without Facebook and the Internet on a phone for this long, so what's another two years? This is the cell phone cover I found for the phone. The main reason I wanted the new phone was so that I could get a rhinestone cover (and because the phone was free, and I'm planning on staying with my carrier, so I guess it doesn't make sense to be with them but not under contract, and of course my old phone is on its last legs - although I thought it was in Dec, but now it's fine again).
The end! Oh and my last phone has been great (despite the guy at the store mocking me for having a flip phone) so I'm worried this one will suck. The reviews about the phone quality have been mixed, and unlike most people, that's what I care about the most - that and whether or not bling covers are available for the model I want.
Anyway, she's now become anti-social (like me). I was going to take her to the vet a few days ago so I got the cat carrier out the night before so that she could get sniff it and not be scared of it. Th day my boyfriend revealed he had been giving her milk every day when he had cereal, and I decided to cancel the vet appointment, in case it was the milk that was making her vomit. She hasn't vomited since so no vet trip! Now she sits in the cat carrier all day long. She loves it! The weirdest thing is that she goes in it, then pulls the wire door shut in front of her! So weird! She doesn't like to have anything to do with my other two cats, so this way she doesn't have to be bothered by them. She was also coming into the bedroom every morning, running around on the bed with her claws out, after being chased in there by one of the cats, and now she doesn't do that! Yay.
I signed up to receive info from a nearby school that offers medical assisting programs. Within two minutes of filling out the request I got a phone call from them and have been getting one every 2 hours since then from the hours of 7am-8pm. WTF???? A little desperate? After the first day of phone calls I already ruled them out because any school that desperate has got to be awful. I put their number in my phone so that the ringer would go silent. Of course upon a google search everyone is saying horrible things about the school, but they are one of the only schools nearby that offers those courses. Later I realized the local community college has the same program too for half the price. I thought community college was like $13 a unit? I guess it was back in the early 90s, but not now:(
I also requested info from a med school down the street but they never called me once. Now of course it makes me more curious about them since they are too busy to be calling me...
Anyway, since I've been on Allegra the only change I've noticed is that I get full now! A few months ago I was telling my boyfriend I don't remember the last time I actually felt full. I have to count calories and try to stop myself from eating because I never feel full after eating, even if it's a big meal. I know antihistamines mess with your appetite, and in an article I read last night, it said the average person on Claritin, Zyrtec, or Allegra weighs 10 pounds more than someone not on one of those drugs. Anyway, I am enjoying feeling full! Nothing is worse than being hungry 24/7. Also, I have been better at abstaining from dessert. On Zyrtec I was obsessed with desserts and it was always a struggle to not eat them. Now I can go days without a craving.
I try to take only 1/2 a pill every other day (plus nasal spray, plus nettle extract), but now that ragweed season is here I'm dying. I need to look into the cost of sublingual allergy drops since shots like $10k! I also read that greek yogurt blocks histamines somehow. I hate greek yogurt but will eat anything if it means less allergy pills.
I'm giving up on eating chicken as of today! 90% of the time I get tingling fingers (and forearms) after eating it, and the more I research it, the more I think it's an allergy, one that could get worse if I don't stop eating it now (and supposedly it could later affect egg consumption too). Luckily I don't like chicken so it's not a big deal, and it only happens when I eat a fair amount of it. It doesn't matter if it's free range or organic. I also have the same problem from tuna, but only about 50% of the time. I've already given up tuna for the most part and switched to salmon (which poses the same problem on occasion but not as bad - wtf?) If it wasn't for my hair I would be a vegetarian, but I've been trying to eat more meat lately, not less. In conclusion, apparently chicken allergies affect 0.6-5% of people, but the tingling fingers thing is very rare. Weird.
On a side note, my cat was throwing up almost every day recently and having other problems, and after switching her food this week to a new food, for now she's cured! Ironically the food I was feeding her had chicken as the main ingredient, and the new one (for sensitive stomachs) is chicken-free. Like mother like daughter.
Anyway, I can now do a bunch of different spins, hold myself on the pole in the spilts, sit on the pole, etc. I still haven't tried hanging upside down from it or doing anything crazy. It's definitely a good upper body workout, and it's even cardio. It hasn't done anything for my lower body yet. The pole hasn't fallen out of the ceiling yet, and it's easy to take down as needed. A friend of mine got excited when I mentioned getting it and she's getting one too for her new house!
My boyfriend just bought me the pink stripper pole that I've been talking about for like 5+ years. Woohoo. It should be here in a few days. It's going in my living room. I took another pole dancing class yesterday and I am terrible at it! I am hoping I can get better with practice. I'm already sore from yesterday so I know it's a good workout. I went with a friend from high school to the beginner's pole dancing class, and she was out-dancing everyone in the class because it turns out she's a pole dancing hustler.
I'm watching the Oscars right now. They are so boring, although Anne Hathaway is amusing.
Oh and I am not getting the trapeze that I want soooo bad. It's just easier to get the pole, which seems safer, and it's a lot cheaper. I bought a $15 swing at Ikea but I'm afraid to hang that too.
